about

This album was perceived rehearsed and recorded in Shepherds old apartment on Ossington. We called it the tree fort. Me and Shepherd love nicknames. This was the year 2007 so Ossington( (in between Dundas and Queen) was nothing like it is today as far as restuarants and bars are concerned. Auto shops and Portuguese fish mongers. Baby Dolls strip club(which you'll hear about on our next album) the Dakota Tavern, the Crooked Star, the Communist Daughter and the Golden Turtle were your only options for food and drink. We would rehearse late Sunday afternoons(most rehearsals ran for 4 or 5 hours) and we would work up a real thirst. A serious stomach gurgle. Me and Shepherd both have high metabolisms. It became a custom of ours to go have a post practice meal at the Golden Turtle and many bottles of Tsing Tao's. We wrote this song for the restaurant. To give back to them a little bit for giving us such great service and affordable delicious Vietnamese cuisine.

Thank you Golden Turtle for giving us the strength to see this record through.

lyrics

To the empty stomach
to the empty stomach
go get yourself some Pho Hung
well my suggestion happens to be a good one
to stop your gurgle
you gotta go get some Golden Turtle
come on

how about a golden turtle
not so bad now
that you got your Golden Turtle
fill it up
fill it up on Sunday
eating will distract
most any gurgle

without a turtle
we've got no Golden
no intro no outros
oh honey it's just the dry wall
and a bit of abyss
without the Turtle
without the Turtle
we've got no Golden
